I started an entry the other day about funny things the girls had said lately, but it didn't go anywhere. I always think that I'm going to sit down and write something when things are going well and I'm happy. I rarely do though, thinking I guess that it will bring the fates down upon me.

But you know, all is well right now. I finally went to the doctor this week and have some nice medicines to clear up both the sinus infection and the yeast infection. I feel better. Much better. like I was thinking today that it might be fun to cross-country ski, something I haven't done in about 11 years. I don't have skis though and realized that well, I could just go over to the treadmill and run. I haven't felt like running in about 3 weeks. So I'll try to fit that in this weekend, and then try to get back into a regular routine. I guess I was just thinking that cross country skiing would be like running in the snow.

I've gotten nearly all my Christmas shopping done. I need to do one more thing for husband (which is a donation to a charity, so that's easy) and wrap everything else. Husband said he'd help wrap stuff this weekend. I'd love to bake, but you know if I don't get to it in December, I'll get to it in January. Husband needs to do the Christmas letter, but the cards are all addressed. I just feel more relaxed about it than I have in years. Seriously. II'm sure the stress will hit about this time next week (eep) as we leave on our pilgrimage to the south.

So yeah, I'm swimming right along, I'm even relaxed about the dishwasher. Oh I didn't tell you abut the dishwasher! It broke. That's the short version. We thought a part might fix it, but alas. 15 is just too old for the dishwasher. Last Friday the man and I spent the big bucks and bought a new one. We wanted such an odd color to match our other appliances and but that color wasn't in stock, so we had to order it and it turns out it has to come from the manufacturer. Who knew white was such a difficult color? Anyway, a week later and we still haven't heard and I'm still washing dishes by hand, which while is getting very old is also oddly satisfying. The "date" they gave us is next Wednesday and I'm trying not to fret over the fact that if they miss the "date" by too much, I won't have a dishwasher by Christmas morning, when I'd like to not worry a bunch about what a mess I'm making in putting together some really decadent breakfast. But oh well. I can't make it happen any faster by getting upset. I did wish just for a moment today that I was wasteful enough and rich enough to buy some pretty snowflake plates at target and then you know pitch them or break them when they got dirty. But alas, I am neither.
