I probably need to start trying to write earlier in the day, because by the time I've wrangled both girls in bed, I'm so tired my mind just goes blank. Well mostly blank, the thought process goes something like this: mmmm knit 12 rows, mmm sew the blue triangle HERE. mmm three musketeers. This hardly makes for a coherent entry.

This has been a busy week too (and will continue to be) and that always makes for rough writing as well. I don't work this Thursday so I can attend kindergarten orientation. Husband is staying home all day Wed and thursday which means I'll be tired of him by friday. Oh that sounds bad--I love him, but working at home isn't working for me. I'm not sure why. I'd say it is because I don't get access to the computer all the time, but that isn't it. It might be the fact that he has to have music on all day--aren't the girls loud enough? I don't know, but by the time I go to work on thursday I'm glad to be out of the house. Perhaps it is the being cooped up inside all day (since usually those days correspond with not going anywhere).

Did you notice how I slipped kindergarten orientation in there without a panic or anything? I'm a little worried about it, but more on the order of--I have an idea of what I would like and I'm afraid they'll tell me I can't have it. I want am kindergarten, since this is when Emily is the freshest (although I'm a tad worried about getting them there on time). I never was one to say I want X teacher, because I always figured that mediocre teachers were like bad bosses--you need to know how to deal with them, but now I find myself with a teacher preference. Husband ran into a couple we know in the grocery store on Sunday. The wife of the pair mentioned she subs in our elementary school, but not for Mrs. L. Now, this woman is someone I worked with 12 years ago at the yuppieville library and honestly I liked her. She was one of the few people (and the only children's librarian --I was in adult services) to be friendly to me, the new hire. Then it turns out, she's the one who threatened the boss and was all scary weird. Plus she never showed any remorse (and yes, she was guilty she admitted it!) which felt sort of sociopath like. She's so happy and cheery, that you'd never guess that she got so frustrated at work that she sent an anonymous note with a veiled threat to the boss. Since then, I've always found her a tad creepy. So, can you tell I'm hoping for mornings with Mrs. L? With my luck, they'll tell us that we have afternoons with the other teacher who will be planning maternity leave during the year, but don't worry we found this excellent sub who used to be a children's librarian.... Husband says that since the City settled with her and no charges were filed, I can't be the parent that goes to the principal and says--I have concerns about Mrs. X subbing for my kids, did you know she sent a fishhook to the boss at the library?! I am trying to be zen about it.

Amy is feeling under the weather, still. Last week, I took her to the ped (through seven inches of snow!) and got the fun diagnosis of virus. She's still coughing, but no other symptoms, so I'm waiting a while on this one. this morning, she woke up with a bloody nose which just freaked her out! She gets freaked when she gets red marker on herself, so you might imagine what a bloodstained pillow, trail of blood down her cheek and bloody boogers did. And it really wasn't bad--just all over. Probably means she'll be up a lot tonight--just checking to make sure she's not bleeding. I feel so bad for them when they are sick--especially in this case where she's sick enough to be not herself, but not sick enough to stay home or go to the doctor. Riding these virus out is hard. Again, trying to be zen, breathing deeply and washing my hands a lot.

Well, I'd best get sewing, I have four blocks completely ripped up awaiting my mad sewing skillz to get them in the right place. Three more after that!
