I actually had to go back to my site to see when I last wrote. Crazy eh?
I always hated it when people would write that they had been too busy enjoying life to write about it, and here I am thinking--well we've been very busy and having a great deal of fun and I haven't had time to sit in front of the mac and pound out the details.

The girls have been at camp and swimming lessons. The swimming lessons were quite traumatic, Amy deciding she didn't like them and would cry. Then we implemented a successful incentive program (ie a bribe) and then she stopped crying and started swimming, but managed to tag Emily so then she spent the next week crying whenever it was suggested she float on her back. I sit in the parents room and knit (and one day untangled yarn so that was fun) and listened to the other moms gossip. I learned that my children no longer look like twins, but evidently one of them looks older than the other--I was never able to determine which one looked older, but I'll guess Emily since she's a tad bigger. I also learned one of the dads used to play pro-baseball, a fact he mentioned 3 times in the 20 minutes we were in the "observation room".
Neither girl passed, but Amy is really close. No more swimming lessons this summer though, I'm just going to hang out at the pool and work on getting them caught up this fall maybe, or maybe in the spring.

No word on Amy's evil plan yet... she never did get the Ken doll, opting instead for a barbie with pink hair and wings plus a barbie bride gown. Honestly, I do hope that Amy opts to have pink hair and fairy wings at her own wedding as her barbie looks quite punked out in her full wedding gear.

Yesterday we went to Ann Arbor (Ant Aurbra to Amy) and met up with Karen. The ladies talked her ear off about the "hands off" museum (which was really the Hands On museum), and charmed her (I hope) with many tales of life from the perspective of five-year olds. She took me to a yarn store that I never would have found on my own (lead me into temptation!) and generally hung out with us. I had a great time, and could have stayed (and shopped) lots more. But the main goal was for husband to do some research, which he did, although he claims he didn't find anything earth-shattering.
I never know what else to say about meetups like this. It was much fun! yarn was purchased! She didn't run away screaming from my bratty children! (who actually behaved themselves quite nicely).

Today it is off to the ball game. We have tickets to see the local minor league team in action. We're taking MIL--it is her birthday present. I'm bringing my knitting, but given that there is a playground and supposedly a splash park set up for today's game, I'm guessing I won't get much done. I do know one thing--I may be stupid but I can learn from mistakes. Friday I took the ladies ot the public pool. It was slightly overcast (ok really overcast) but warm. It was 3:15pm we planned to stay about 90 minutes. I did not put sunscreen on us--citing clouds and lateness of the afternoon and shortness of our time there. I have a bad sunburn now. Emily has a slight burn and Amy seems to have avoided it. Still--today 3:05 start and I'm greasing us all up for a day at the park.
