2009-08-24

Lots has happened since I last wrote, in fact I don't even want to go back and figure out when I last wrote. we got the basement cleaned! we got new carpet! And we are slowly starting to get the things we kept put back into the room. I say slowly because not everything is going back into the basement--upon reflection and sorting we've discovered tons of things that we no longer need and so many more boxes have found their way to the trash (old 3.5 floppies) and to good will--a whole BOX of baskets. It is going slow because until today I was in the middle of a BIG quilting project. Which I'll write about in more depth on the crafty blog. But let's just say this here--if babies have personalities that match the difficulty level of the quilts I make them then my cousin better look out. I only managed to get the quilt done because MIL did all the piecing of the hexagons and Amy and Emily love their new space in the basement and have played down there for HOURS while I did the quilting.

Also, a few weeks ago I saw one of the hyper moms from Amy and Emily's kindergarten class and her son at the pool. The FIRSt thing she asked me was if I had heard anything about the teacher assignments. Dr. Mom was with so now she knows I'm not making this hyper stuff up. I told her no, I thought Aug 31 was the day they announced teacher assignments. Then I got home and discovered that our new principal (because that is who decides when this stuff gets leaked on a school by school basis) had decided to announce the class lists on Aug 25th (as in tomorrow) and had sent e-mail to everyone. I'm only hoping that the crazy parents don't make her regret going a week early with this. I had thought that I'd be all calm and think--ok we'll mosey over there and look sometime that day, but now I'm ready just to know and be done, so we'll go over in the am--Am going to try to last until 10am. We'll see.
