Stalking the Stacks with Library Lil * |
2000-05-20 Because of the way diaryland is set up, I had to do my biography page as an entry. Its ok--things are boring here at the library.Who I am. I am 31. I am married to a wonderful, loving man who wishes to not have his name used. I am a librarian working in the children's section of a small library. I am on my way to becoming technology coordinator of the same library. I am the smiley woman with the shoulder length brown hair. I am tired of the Internet and the hold it has over people's lives (despite the fact that if you are actually reading this--the Internet probably has your life too--just don't sit inside reading this on an otherwise gorgeous Saturday--unless you have to work). I am a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University and the University of Illinois. If you are an IWU graduate (especially between 1988-1993) drop me an e-mail. I am a Michigander (and I have the 15 extra pounds to prove it!). I am the proud owner of a pet turtle. I am an avid reader. I especially like mysteries, but also contemporary fiction. I am an amateur quilter. I am an aunt to 3 children, S-- age (almost)3, E---age 1 and C--age 3 months. I am glad that everything I think does not pop out of my mouth. I am the product of a "broken" home--although I prefer to think of it as fixed. I am the adult child of an alcoholic. I am good friends with my mom, my mother-in-law and at least one of my sisters-in-law. Who I am not. I am not totally unpacked from my not-so-recent move. I am not really happy with having a full-time job I want to have all the benefits of full time, but only work 15-20 hours a week. I am not very good at being a children's librarian--although I am a good librarian in general. Trust me, I am the librarian you want to be answering your questions. Unless of course you are 10 and don't know what to read aside from the Pokemon books (of which you have read them all) and Captain Underpants (of which you want to read because of the cool poster in the library--but the books are always checked out). I am not anybody's mother. Although I wish that I were.
